I’ve got my personal Content Planning strategy for you today.

Use this process to plan out 90 days of content creation based on SEO keywords you’ve chosen to target.

It should only take you 3-5 hours to create.

Do this 1x every quarter and stay ahead on your calendar.

If you’re like most people, you aren’t doing this yet and you’re constantly working to keep up with publishing content.

Put the worries aside & get ahead with this strategy.

Here we go!

Step 1: Decide how many articles/mo

Create your budget and how many articles you want to publish each month.

I recommend 2-5 per month to start then progress to 8-20 per month total.

Make it realistic for everything you have on your plate.

Also, think about if you’ll be the one writing all of the content or if you’ll hire someone to help you.

Step 2: Identify your keywords

Perform keyword research to find 15-90 keywords to target with your content creation for the next 90 days.

Step 3: Set up a content calendar space

Use Google Sheets or a tool like Trello, ClickUp, Airtable, or Asana to organize your 90 day content calendar.

(whichever you’re most comfortable with to avoid a learning curve)

This will be 1 place where you can create your Content Calendar and keep it organized as you scale your content creation.

Think of it like a Calendar where you can see each week and article that you’ll be working on so it’s easy to track and update.

Step 4: Lay out the articles & writers

Based on the keywords, lay out the due dates and Writers for each of the articles in your Content Calendar.

This helps you visualize when and who will be handling each article.

It’s also an easy way to stay on track as the time goes by and you’re creating content.

Step 5: Create article titles

Next, create article titles for each of your target keywords.

Search the main keyword on Google, see who’s already winning, and make a title that levels up the 1st page SERP competition.

Step 6: Build article drafts

Finally, create drafts for the articles with H1s, H2s, H3s, and key topics to cover.

Again, search on Google and look at outlines of the pages already ranking.

Take time to create high end article outlines so that it’s easy for you or your Writers to create the content.

This is a step you shouldn’t overlook!

Step 7: Assign & write the content

Boom! You now have a 90 day Content Plan!

Final step: Write the content and optimize for SEO and the reading experience.
