Today, I'm diving into the 7 types of SEO keywords you absolutely need to master for the upcoming year.
Let's break it down.
1/ High Intent
- User is ready to purchase.
- Looking for a specific solution.
- Opportunity to convert new customers.
2/ Medium Intent
- User is researching options.
- They know they have a problem.
- But they're not ready to commit yet.
- On the hunt for the best decision.
3/ Low Intent
- User is in the learning phase.
- Looking for educational content.
- Trying to learn more about their problem.
- Looking for ideas, outcomes, & tactics.
4/ Short Tail
- 1-2 word phrase.
- The broadest keywords.
- High search volumes & competition.
- Usually the hardest to rank for.
- Could take years to claim #1.
5/ Long Tail
- 2-5+ word phrase.
- Specific & targeted keyword phrases.
- User is looking for something specific.
- Lower search volumes & competition.
- Could start ranking within weeks.
6/ Brand
- Company specific keywords.
- I.e. "Connor Gillivan" for CG.com.
- Variations of your company name.
- Where you should rank organically.
- Want to make sure you're #1.
7/ Clusters
- Groups of keywords with the same search intent.
- Built off 1 main target keyword.
- You can target clusters with your content.
- Rank for multiple keywords with 1 blog or page.
