Hey Savvy nation!

Today, let's delve into creating keyword clusters to target multiple keywords in each blog or page.

I started doing this in 2023 & the number of keywords we ranked for grew quickly...across all of my businesses.

Beautiful thing…

You can do the same!

#1: Choose a keyword to target

  • Go to your bank of keywords.

  • Choose one to run this process with.

  • You'll then run it with all of the others too.

#2: Log in to your SEO software

#3: Pull up the keyword data

  • Search the keyword.

  • Get the data for it.

  • Analyze & look at what your SEO tool tells you about other similar keywords.

#4: Look for "terms match" keywords

  • Look for "terms match" suggestions

  • This will appear differently in all tools.

  • You want similar keywords to what you searched.

#5: Check out "Search Suggestions"

  • There may also be a Search Suggestions option.

  • Go check those out too.

  • Again, it will differ depending on the tool.

#6: Make a 3-10+ keyword cluster

  • Pick the closest matches from your research.

  • List out 3-10+ keywords as a cluster.

  • Make sure search intent matches.

  • Boom! Cluster created!

#7: Research each keyword

  • Not done yet...

  • Search each keyword on Google.

  • Make sure that similar results come up on Google for each keyword.

#8: Ensure intent is the same

  • Search intent is critical.

  • You want intent to be the same for all keywords in your cluster.

  • Look at intent for each & take note.

#9: Remove if intent doesn't match

  • Be picky!

  • Remove any keywords that don't have the same search intent.

  • Narrow your keyword cluster down.

Summary

Effective keyword clustering involves selecting and analyzing closely related keywords to target multiple rankings within a single blog or page.

This approach requires careful research and intent alignment to ensure relevance and efficiency in SEO efforts.

Action Steps

  1. Implement the keyword cluster process for your content strategy.

  2. Carefully research and select keywords with matching search intent.

  3. Regularly review and adjust your clusters for optimal SEO performance.

Embrace this technique to enhance your content's reach and SEO impact.

Best,

Connor
