My 8-Step SEO Hack for Research, Writing, and Strategy

My battle-tested system for getting real leads and revenue.

Time for another SEO hack, friends!

This one took me 10+ years of study and trial and error to perfect. And it’s how I currently get my businesses to rank.

Last week, I gave you a glimpse into how I got 25+ leads and $10K in revenue with EcomBalance, a company in my portfolio.

Today, we’re diving deeper into the SEO process (from keyword to internal linking) that makes these kinds of results happen.

Are you ready?

1. Pool Target Keywords

Start with hub terms related to your offers.

Use tools like Ahrefs, Semrush, or Keyword Planner to find 50-100 keywords by volume, difficulty, and intent.

You want to pick the right keywords—terms people actually search for, that you have a chance to rank for, and that align with your business goals.

2. Prioritize Your Conversion Drivers

Now, label each keyword high, medium, or low intent, and cluster them by topic. This ensures every page has a clear purpose.

Prioritize high-intent keywords that drive leads and sales, then layer in medium and low-intent terms for broader visibility.

3. Build a 90-Day Strategy

Plan 12-20 articles within a 90-day window.

The idea is to mix quick wins (lower difficulty keywords you can rank for fast) with authority builders (long-term, competitive terms that build your site’s reputation).

This way, your content production stays goal-oriented and realistic.

4. Research SERPs

Before writing, analyze the top-ranking pages for your target keywords.

Look at headlines, subheadings, content structure, and angles. Then take note of content gaps you can fill or improve. That’s how you build your competitive advantage.

5. Create Outlines

Develop detailed article outlines based on your SERP research.

Your goal is to ensure that your writing is structured and focused, while naturally incorporating the topics and keywords that Google values.

6. Write the Content

Write for humans and algorithms using E-E-A-T principles (experience, expertise, authority, trustworthiness).

Include examples, statistics, internal links, and naturally place keywords without overstuffing. Your content should feel helpful first, SEO-friendly second.

7. Publish

Optimize meta titles, descriptions, URLs, images, and internal links before hitting publish.

Once live, distribute your content across social media, email, and other channels you control. Don’t rely on Google alone.

Link new content to 3-5 core articles, and update older pages with new links.

This is how you distribute authority across your site, keep your content network strong, and signal to Google which pages are most important.

It’s not a sprint.

Skip steps here, and you trade results for hustle. You miss out on compounding wins that come only with strategic, sustained SEO.
